ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Traci

WHERE I COME FROM

I was born in 1971 and grew up on a large dairy farm in Andersonburg.  My father was Kenneth Morrow and my mother is Marti Shoffner Noel. I have two brothers, David Morrow, and his wife Kim, and Steven Morrow, and his wife Marty.  My paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Roxie Morrow lived in Blain and my maternal grandparents, Pete and Lois Shoffner, lived in Ickesburg.

Growing up on a farm taught me much about hard work, self-motivation, pride in a job well done, and teamwork.  Living on a farm gave me the opportunity to be involved in 4-H.  I raised and showed holsteins and later participated in horse showing and riding at the Perry County Fair.  I also raised a seeing eye dog as a 4-H project.

I attended Perry Christian Academy in Newport and then transferred to Blain Elementary in 6th grade.  In high school I was involved in cheerleading for football, basketball and wrestling, as well as numerous other clubs and activities.  I graduated from West Perry High School and went on to attend Central Penn College where I received my degree.  I have been a paralegal at a few different firms over the years, but I found my way to my current position at Irwin & McKnight over 20 years ago.

I met my husband, Steven Wilt, 12 years ago and we have been married for 9 wonderful years.  We are the most proud of raising our 4 children to be responsible, respectful and hardworking adults.  We love to travel and enjoy having Sunday dinners at our home for our entire family.

I have a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Dalton Reapsome of Shermansdale, a son, Logan Smith and his girlfriend, Sabrina Stuck of Landisburg, a step-son and his wife, Michael and Mindy Wilt, of Loysville, and a step-daughter, Alysia Wilt and her fiance, Nate Creswell of Montgomery, Illinois.

My parents and grandparents have always used their talents and skills to help their community in whatever ways they could.  I am good at my job and enjoy helping others.  I also enjoy research and learning about the law.  I have always known I would be a perfect fit for the position of Magisterial District Judge, but never dreamed the  opportunity would  become available to me.  Now that it has, I am certain that this is the place where I can use my talents, skills and knowledge to help my community.

A THRIVING CAREER

Prior to working as a paralegal, I worked on my family farm until I graduated from high school and then worked my way through college.   I started my career doing workers’ compensation insurance defense and personal injury defense for 7 years.  I advanced on to another firm doing personal injury from the Plaintiff’s side as well as some family law and general litigation work for a few years.  I have been with Irwin & McKnight, P.C. in Carlisle, Pennsylvania for over 20 years.  It is a general practice law firm that has been in business for almost 80 years.  At Irwin & McKnight, we handle all types of law. I have experience in the following:

  • Civil litigation (both on the Magisterial District Judge level as well as the Common Pleas level)

  • Divorce

  • Custody and Support

  • Adoption

  • Landlord/Tenant (both from the Landlord side and from the Tenant side)

  • Municipal ( Irwin & McKnight are solicitors for several Townships in Cumberland County, as well as Newville Borough. I have extensive experience in Ordinance and Code violations which are heard by the Magisterial District Judge)

  • Personal injury

  • Corporate

  • Estate Planning*Criminal

The firm also handles estates, real estate, workers compensation, social security disability and unemployment compensation. I manage a large escrow account, as well as prepare monthly billing, make sure files are ready with exhibits for hearings, prepare and file Complaints, Answers, Discovery, and other legal documents, meet with clients to gather information and assist with their case, contact clients, attorneys, courthouse personnel and Magisterial District Judge personnel, and maintain attorney schedule and my schedule.  So, as you can see from the list above, I have a lot of knowledge and experience which would make me the best candidate for Magisterial District Judge.
